Bro. Charlie Oscar Oliver
Bro. Charlie Oscar Oliver, age 82, of Ratcliff passed from this life Thursday, September 8, 2016 at his residence. He was born July 9, 1934 in Houston County to parents, Zibbie D. Oliver and Bunnie Holsomback Oliver. He served for fifty-one years as a missionary in Matehuala, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and was a retired preacher and missionary.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Oueida O’Pry Oliver of Ratcliff; sons, Carl Oliver and wife, Sylvia of Ratcliff and Jimmy Ray Oliver of Ratcliff; grandchildren, Jaimey Allen Oliver and wife, Gina Marie of Maynard, MN, Nina Marie Hooper and husband, Grady of Hamilton, Kristy Ann Hettinga and husband, Josh of Muleshoe, Lisa Renay Lyons and husband, Brian of Wichita Falls, Sabrina Ray Lee and husband, Elliott of Conroe and Ashley Oliver Ussery and husband, Race of Ratcliff; great-grandchildren, Jaimison Allen Oliver, Catherine Victoria Hooper, Logan Oliver Hooper, Lacey Anne Hettinga, Austin Keith Lyons, Benjamin Tyler Lyons, Aden Oliver McBunch; sister, Eunice Goodson Conner and husband, Billy Dean of Kennard and Mavis Marek of Ratcliff; many friends and relatives who care.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zibbie D. and Bunnie Oliver; brothers, George Irvin Oliver, G.E. Oliver and Deweren Oliver; sisters, Virgie May Patton, Vera Marie Oliver and Annie Conner; and infant daughter.
Funeral services for Bro. Charlie Oscar Oliver were held Monday, September 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel. Interment followed in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Ratcliff. The family received friends for visitation from 5:00-7:00p.m. Sunday at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Divine Truth Mission, P.O.
