Frank M. Penny, Jr.

Frank M. Penny, Jr., 87, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016 at his residence in Conroe. He was born June 23, 1929 in Crockett to parents, Frank M. Penny, Sr. and Minnie Snook Penny, graduated from Crockett High School in 1949 and eventually served in the Texas National Guard. Frank lied to his mom, telling her he was taking art class, while all the time he was using the money to learn how to fly airplanes! He went on to teach his father how to fly and owned several small planes. Frank married the love of his life, Robbie Joyce Sims, April 7, 1950 and moved his family to Houston to work as a welder. He became an elder and was ordained in the church he helped establish, Houston Independent Worldwide Church of God.
Mr. Penny is survived by wife of 67 years, Robbie Penny of Conroe; daughters, Georgia Brashers and husband, John of Montgomery, Joyce Davis and husband, Larry of Conroe; grandchildren, Renee Armstrong and husband, Robert of Montgomery, Greg Edwards and wife, Lena of Montgomery, Chris Brashers and wife, Shana of Montgomery, Jarrod Brashers and wife, Krissy of Tomball, Sommer Allen and husband, Emanuel of Willis, Anna Kiker of Houston, Amber Briscoe and husband, Terrance of Willis; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Bradley, Jordan, Jalen, Jerrick, Jevin, Kaylee, Kobe, Kambrie, Kaydence, Mason, Adysson, Aden, Kaylan, Casey, Cindy; great-great grandchild, Adelyn; sister-in-law, Gladys Collins of Palestine; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by son, Bobby Frank Penny; parents, Frank Sr. and Minnie; sister, Mable Rudel; brothers, George Young Sr. and Jack Young.
Funeral services for Frank M. Penny, Jr. were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel in Crockett. Interment followed at Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett. Visitation was 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home in Crockett.
