CROCKETT – It’s that time of year again, and all eyes are on the Kalin Center. The Ninth Annual Kalin Center “Styles for Smiles” extravaganza is coming up September 17 from 11:00 a.m. until 2 p.m.
All the favorite boutiques, catering by Larry Bruce Gardens and loads of doorprizes, balloon raffles and high speed bidding for auction items mark the event as one of the premiere charity venues in Crockett and Houston County.
Make your reservations now, tickets will not be sold at the door. Individual entry fees are $35 and a reserved table for eight is $400.
The proceeds from the event support the Kalin Center. Sadly, the center finds its services needed far too often but the once a year gala attended by Crockett’s generous citizens ensures the services will be there for those who need them most.
Victimized children often feel there is no one they can trust. They keep their silence, but eventually, the ugly truth comes to light.
Formerly, these victims had no choice but to tell their stories over and over again, revictimized each time another stranger’s face stared down at them.
Kalin Center takes that repetitive pain out of the picture. The warm, caring atmosphere, the years of experience and the expert counseling services made available by the staff at the agency help imbue these victims with trust and a sense of tomorrow.
The combined team of staff, law enforcement, counselors and other care-givers on the case are able to hear the child’s tale – the first time. There’s no need for painful iteration
Funds from generous donations and those who attend the “Smiles for Styles” event every year help make that possible.
This year’s models and fashion providers have, as every year before, generously provided their services and time to sponsor the agency’s best fund-raising event.
Heart’s Desire, Bella Gifts from the Heart, Cato Fashions, Hibbett Sports, The Co-Ed Shop, Classy Chics, Stage, Kittie’s Korner, Hortman’s Country Store and Factory Connection will send models down the runway wearing the newest in fall fashion.
Larry Bruce and his team will bring their garden to your table, tempting and satisfying the most picky eaters with a carefully chosen, farm fresh feast.
Each year, rows of tables and beautifully accented displays showcase the fine raffle and door prize winnings.
Best of all, each auctioned item, each generously donated raffle item and each door prize represent another day, or week, or month of desperately needed assistance the Kalin Center can offer victimized children.
